Hi, I’m Sam Chavez!

I am a storyteller, strategist, and curious human. I'm a New Texican who’s passionate about building a pathway to a livable planet & equitable societies.

Growing up as a closeted queer kid in a conservative Texas family shaped my approach to activism and understanding of the urgency to shift our culture away from harmful systems.

The 2020 election was my wake up call. On January 6, 2021, I was isolated in the New Mexican mountains with my trusty steed (aka my corgi, Bear). I watched in shocked horror and awe as the literal walls of Democracy were breached just mere hours after a Black man and Jewish man respectively won their Senate seats in Georgia. 

The whiplash was stark. I was equally relieved at the electoral victory, but fearful of history repeating itself and the clear flaws within the Democratic Party that allowed a narrow victory in the face of overt fascism. Unfortunately, these flaws have only continued to rust and decay since then.

In 2020, I broke from my 12+ years of corporate advertising and marketing agency experience to build a decolonized communications & media agency that supports activists, movement leaders, and social change communicators.

I bring my foundational marketing knowledge into a liberatory, sustainable praxis to reshape our world. Working with Fortune 500 companies in hospitality (Hilton Worldwide), finance (Wells Fargo), tech (Amazon Web Services), and dozens of other industries, I recognized too many communicators were missing the key ingredient to communications: the need for connection.

My first newsletters was about the failures of Democrat's to build a future-forward vision and their inability to communicate change and thus support the public through it.
